Monday Update

Rules of Chocolate Easter Eggs

  • If you get melted chocolate all over your hands, you're eating it too slowly.
  • Chocolate covered raisins, cherries, orange slices and strawberries all count as fruit, so eat as many as you want.
  • Diet tip: Eat an Easter egg before each meal.
It'll take the edge off your appetite, and that way you'll eat less.
  • If you can't eat all your chocolate, it will keep in the freezer. But if you can't eat all your chocolate, what's wrong with you?
  • If calories are an issue, store your chocolate on top of the fridge.  Calories are afraid of heights, and they will jump out of the chocolate to protect themselves.
  • Money talks. Chocolate sings.
  • Chocolate has many preservatives.  Preservatives make you look younger.
  • The problem: How to get two pounds of chocolate eggs home from the store in a hot car.
The solution: Eat the eggs in the car park.
  • Why is there no such organization as Chocoholics Anonymous?
Because no one wants to quit.

I didn't know what to comment on first!  Easter or the ridiculous snowy weather!  Hope everyone is finally plowed out!

Winter Slideshow Pictures - I make slideshows for the school so email me 1 or 2 of your best Big Snow Pics!

EASTER EGG DECORATING
We will be decorating Easter eggs on Wednesday.  Please send 2-3 white, hard boiled eggs to school.
DO NOT SEND THEM IN AN EGG CARTON!  Please send the eggs, wrapped in paper towel, in a margarine container labelled with your child’s name.  This will ensure the eggs get to and from school as safely as possible.  I will have extra in case of breakage!
Thank you!

Tuesday Update

Parent Teacher Interviews have been scheduled.  Your interview time will be included with the Report Card on a bright red paper!
Also, NWSD has a survey that they require parents to complete.  It will be in your child's agenda.   Please complete and return to school in a sealed envelope for confidentiality.  Thanks!

“Imagination will often carry us to worlds that never were, but without it we go nowhere.”
Carl Sagan

Well, there was no lack of imagination at your homes this weekend!  The children were so excited to tell me about their Leprechaun adventures!  Well done!  You did a splendid job!  Those pesky leprechauns seemed to be very nice leprechauns as many left behind treats!!!

A few dates to add to your calendar:

Parent Teacher Interviews - Monday March 25  3:30 to 8:00 and Tuesday March 26 3:30 to 6:00.  Report cards will go home on Friday so check for the interview time included in the report card.  If you have not indicated a time yet, please email me before 8:00 am tomorrow as we will be scheduling times.

April 17 is Agriculture Education Day at the Lloydminster Exhibition Grounds.  We will be taking a bus, going somewhere for lunch and hopefully, another venue.  I will let you know more after I have an opportunity to plan with Ms. Hermanson as the Grade Two class also goes to Ag Ed. Days.  Parents are welcome to join us.

April 18 - Hillmond Oratory
Each year grade 1-3 participates in Oratory which is basically Public Speaking.  We present a class oral poem and each student is expected to present an individual poem.  These can be published or original (not published but written by the student and/or parent).
There is usually an interschool Oratory which we have hosted for the past few years.   Onion Lake may host this year.  We will not be hosting as our school yard is slated to be under construction in early May so we will not have a play structure.
I will send all the details about Oratory before the Easter Break.

Important Information!!!!

Why should you never iron a 4-leaf clover?

You don't want to press your luck!

Please help me play a St. Patrick's day trick on the students!!!!
We are making a bag of Leprechaun Lunch to bring home tomorrow.  With your child, leave the lunch out for the leprechaun overnight. Make sure the 'leprechaun' eats some of the lunch.  I am sure he would be messy and scatter some around!  Embellish this as you wish with green glitter, footprints, etc!  The leprechaun will leave a note for the students (tiny and green).  Sometimes the leprechaun plays tricks and hides things as well!  Have fun with it!!!!
You can print this one off or make up one of your own!

Thanks for the snack!  It was yummy!  I ate as much as I could but
I am really small.  You can eat the rest!  Have a great St. Patrick's Day!

Lucky the Leprechaun

Green Day is Friday, March 15.  Please send the students wearing as much green as possible!  We are going to graph our clothing!
Also, it's very short notice, but if you can send an item for snack that is green.  We are going to graph these as well.  (grapes, celery, green juice, use your imagination!)

May your blessings outnumber
The shamrocks that grow,
And may trouble avoid you
Wherever you go.
~Irish Blessing
